Roland (April 25th, 2009) is nine years old and just finished the fourth grade. His grandmother is so happy that he is learning to read and learn arithmetic. Without the help of Diaconia’s youth center, all of this would just not be possible. Roland needs special guidance in his life right now. His grandma gets so happy when we come over bringing food, clothes and school supplies. “It’s a real blessing for us,” she remarks. We also provide a hot meal for Roland when he comes each day to the youth center. One of the family’s income sources comes when the grandmother collects wild herbs, mushrooms and berries and sells them at the local market or on the street corner. The only constant income is a tiny pension the grandfather gets because he is ill. Thanks to your help, we will keep hope alive in Roland's family!
